Arturo Fuente – Cigars and Cigar Accessories
Arturo Fuente cigars are among the most famous vitolas in the Dominican Republic and have achieved cult status worldwide. Their moving history and pursuit of perfection put Arturo Fuente at the forefront of the industry. Particularly noteworthy are the Arturo Fuente Opus X and Arturo Fuente Hemingway , known for their excellent quality.
Arturo Fuente: Export hit from the Dominican Republic
“Arturo Fuente Cigars” are among the world’s most famous luxury cigars, not least because of their fascinating company history . The manufacturer is now considered a major export hit from the Dominican Republic and enjoys a unique cult status. Of course, these exquisite products cannot be missing from our shop, especially the Arturo Fuente Opus X – one of the most sought-after cigar series that you can find here.
From Key West to Santiago
The story of the Arturo Fuente company is moving and worth telling: Arturo Fuente, a Cuban born in 1887, emigrated to Key West, Florida in 1906. As a boy, he learned the art of cigar making from his father. In 1912, 24-year-old Fuente founded the A. Fuente & Co. factory in West Tampa, where he made cigars by hand from Cuban tobacco . Just twelve years later, the company employed almost 500 people. But the success was not lasting: a devastating fire destroyed the entire factory, which led to production being stopped.
The unshakable “Arturo Fuente” clan
22 years later, no one believed that production would resume. But Arturo Fuente, now almost 60 years old, saw his second and last chance and wanted to prove himself once again. After the difficult years of the Depression and the Second World War, the trained baker took up the cigar craft again and motivated the entire Fuente clan to roll cigars.
Business was slow at first, but Arturo Fuente held on to his dream. After establishing the business locally, he handed the company over to his youngest son Carlos in 1958 for one dollar. But luck was not always on his side either: in 1979, the factory burned down again during the Nicaraguan revolution.
Surprising comeback
But Carlos Fuente did not give up either. He decided to return to his family’s homeland, mortgaged his parents’ house and reopened the company in Santiago, Dominican Republic. This decision finally led to the longed-for success.
Today, Carlos Fuente Senior and Carlos Fuente Junior run the Arturo Fuente brand, which produces almost 30 million cigars annually. Fuente cigars – along with brands such as Leon Jimenes and Macanudo – are an integral part of the Dominican Republic’s product range.
Must-haves: Premium cigars from Arturo Fuente
The family’s moving history, the constant pursuit of perfection and the unshakable belief in success have brought Arturo Fuente to the top of the premium segment of luxury cigars. The taste of the cigars is as exquisite as their history.
Thanks to special packaging techniques, the manufacturer guarantees maximum enjoyment and aromatic freshness. Another highlight is the Arturo Fuente Hemingway , which was dedicated to the famous writer. The most popular format of this series, rolled in Perfecto format, is the “Best Seller”.
The cigars in the Don Carlos series were created as a tribute to “Don” Carlos Fuente Sr., the long-time patriarch of the Fuente family. The cigars are intended to reflect his personal vision and sophisticated taste. The tobaccos for the Don Carlos cigars are aged over several years and are carefully selected to create a particularly balanced and refined blend. The wrapper tobacco comes from Cameroon and is known for its rare, unique quality.
Arturo Fuente Opus X: Masterpieces of Dominican Cigar Art
The cigars under the name “Opus X” are among the most exclusive and sought-after creations by Arturo Fuente. Famous for their rare and masterfully balanced tobacco blends, these cigars offer an incomparable range of flavors – from intense spice to complex, sweet nuances. Opus X comprises several series that often differ significantly from one another in terms of taste. What they all have in common is the extraordinary craftsmanship and the use of the finest tobaccos that Arturo Fuente has to offer.
Opus X Forbidden X
The Arturo Fuente Opus X Forbidden X is one of the rarest and most exclusive series. It stands for absolute premium quality and brings a smoky, intense aroma with complex notes of dark chocolate, spices and earthy nuances. These cigars are produced in limited numbers and contain tobacco leaves that have been aged for over a decade – a true treasure for collectors.
Opus X Oro Oscuro
The Arturo Fuente Opus X Oro Oscuro is characterized by its rare availability and exceptional craftsmanship. It uses a particularly dark and rich wrapper that offers the smoker a more intense, powerful aroma with pronounced notes of coffee, cocoa and roasted nuts. The Oscuro series is known for its depth and velvety texture on the finish and is aimed at experienced aficionados who value complex flavor profiles.
