Cuban Cigars Trinidad Brand:
Trinidad is named after the beautiful 16th Century city of La Santísima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), listed by UNESCO as a historical monument, which is situated on Cuba’s southern coast. Trinidad, as a Habano, goes back to 1969 but for many years, such as Cohiba, it was made only for presents to foreign diplomats. Not till 1998 was it released with regard to general sale and then only within small quantities. There is only one dimension of Trinidad, the Fundador or even Founder. Although it resembles the Cohiba Lanceros in length and the finish from the cap, it is unique because of 2 extra ring gauge points put into its girth. It is made on El Laguito, the home associated with Cohiba, to its own particular recipe of tobaccos selected from the Vuelta Abajo region.
Trinidad is “totalmente the mano, tripa larga” — completely hand made, long filler.

Trinidad Cigars, Cigarillos and Accessories
It is one of the biggest Cuban cigar brands: Trinidad . It is not for nothing that its name is often mentioned in the same breath as Cohiba – here we are dealing with the finest tobaccos that the Caribbean island has produced. Both names are still relatively young compared to the big traditional houses in Cuba. But first things first!
The Beginnings
The cigar takes its name from the picture-book town of La Santísima Trinidad on the south coast of the island. The picturesque town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 1980s, and every traveler will immediately understand why. The small town’s colorful houses present a Cuba as you know it from postcards. The sugar cane plantations outside are also considered world heritage; here you can see what the Caribbean must have looked like in colonial times.
The cigar of the same name, however, remained hidden from the public for a long time. Although the Trinidad was born three years after the Cohiba, only a few were allowed to enjoy it. Until 1997, only a single format was rolled. The Laguito No.1 was reserved exclusively for state guests , apart from Fidel Castro himself . A feature that it shares with the Cohiba Lancero . The difference between Trinidad and Cohiba? Cohiba ferments the tobacco three times, all other Cuban brands, including Trihiba, do so twice.
In the trade
The diplomatic cigar was never available for purchase. Instead, Trindad reinvented itself : it presented itself to the public with a new cigar, the Fundadores, a vitola with a larger ring gauge and a modified blend. Naturally, demand was overwhelming: Habano lovers all over the world did not want to miss out on a Cuban gem that had previously led a mysterious, shadowy existence in the highest circles. And so it was sold out immediately.
Still an insider tip
The range of regular formats has since been expanded. But that does not affect the quality. Quite the opposite, Trinidad has cemented its reputation as one of Cuba’s top brands . However, it is still not as well known among aficionados as the ubiquitous Cohiba and is therefore still considered something of an insider tip . Only first-class tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region are used, processed in the famous El Laguito factory in Havana by some of the best torcedores in the country.
special series
Like most manufacturers on the Caribbean island, Trinidad also produces limited special editions . However, it is impossible to predict when Habanos SA, the general exporter of Cuban cigars, will produce a Trinidad Limitada for the world market. Unfortunately, we cannot count on this rare commodity on a regular basis. By the way: the Trinidad Shorts ensure full enjoyment during the short break in between . They impress with the unique, brand-typical blend in a small format. Die-hard Trinidad fans can also look forward to cases , ashtrays and cigar cutters .
The triple T
The brand emblem features a triple T, which refers to the German meaning of Trinidad: Dreifaltigkeit . Such a sacred title suggests grandeur and balance. In fact, Trinidad cigars are characterized by their medium strength and pronounced floral and spicy notes . An aroma that is unmistakable for Habano lovers.
